Paperweights

I collect paperweights. I have an Orient and Flume, signed and numbered which I purchased in the 70s. I think it was about $40 and now it's almost $300 according to Ebay. It is beautiful and I don't want to sell it anyway! After I purchased that one I thought I would start collecting the traditional english flower paperweights, but I found that I liked the clear glass paperweights, or the interesting Art Glass. I have a Waterford Crystal paperweight and one of my most interesting, a paperweight made with Mt. St. Helen's dust! Paperweights are a great gift precisely because they hold their value. So you aren't just giving someone a gift, you are giving someone a collectible.
Ebay is a great place to find out what your paperweight is worth or get one that has some value already. It's also a good research tool to see what paperweights are likely to hold their collectible value in the future.
These Rosenthal paperweights are very popular in Europe. Rosenthal is originally a German company and part of the Waterford/Wedgewood group. Rosenthal makes china, crystal emotions jewelry and wonderful dinnerware and glassware.
